Assisted Conception Services

Welcome to the Victoria Wing, a centre of excellence based at Nuffield Health, Woking Hospital, Surrey.

We offer expert fertility treatment from pre-conception through to early pregnancy. Our team of medical and scientific staff can offer you a complete range of assisted reproductive treatments, including ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). We also have active egg donation and egg sharing programmes.

Our Medical and Scientific staff are amongst the most experienced in the country and we aim to offer a sensitive, caring and compassionate environment for all. Our excellent success rates reflect our attention to detail and our commitment to care.

Our clinic is based within a friendly, small private hospital, in a leafy suburb of Woking. We are close to the M25 and the M3, and are easily accessible from Surrey, London, Hampshire, Berkshire and West Sussex.

NHS funding available to some IVF patients

We are delighted to announce that we are one of the hospitals selected by the South Central Commissioning Group to provide NHS-funded IVF treatment. We are also currently providing NHS funded IVF treatment for the Surrey PCT.

Secondary Infertility Group

Are you coping with infertility while parenting? The challenges and frustrations of secondary infertility are unique. A new evening group is being formed for informal discussion. We hope to meet up about every 6 weeks in the Victoria Wing.

For further information, please contact suze.fisher@nuffieldhealth.com

WISH Group

We hold regular meetings of the Woking Infertility Self Help Group in the hospital. There is no need to reserve a place for this free meeting. The WISH group is a partnership between the unit and the patients. We aim to provide support and information, and are affiliated with INUK. There are always new faces at each meeting, and men are very welcome. The group is informal, with no counselling or self disclosure involved.

The next WISH group meeting is on Tuesday 29th May, at 7:30. Members of the Clinical Team will talk about recent changes that we have introduced, including AMH testing, blastocyst transfer and the new HFEA requirements. Please come along to learn more and to ask any questions.

Have you thought about Egg Sharing or Egg Donation?

Egg Sharing

For some couples, egg sharing is an option which can allow them to help another couple who cannot produce their own eggs.

A woman who is accepted onto the egg sharing scheme will not pay for the IVF, her screening tests or for the drugs which are required. All the other fees are payable as usual.

An egg sharing cycle is the same as 'normal' IVF except that we will need to complete some additional screening prior to treatment, which may mean waiting a little longer. On the day of egg collection, half of the eggs which are collected are donated to another couple.

If the recipient of the donated eggs is successful and gives birth, that child can, on reaching the age of 18, make enquiries as to the identity of the egg donor.

Criteria for acceptance:

  • Be between the ages of 18-35
  • Be fit and healthy with a BMI of 20-30
  • Have an FSH level on day 2-4 of the cycle less than 10 iu/L
  • Have a normal or above normal AMH level for their age
  • Have no previous history of severe endometriosis, or of having one ovary removed
  • Have no history of transmissible disease
  • Have no family history of inheritable disorders
  • Be a non-smoker for a minimum of 3 months
  • Have had no more than two previous unsuccessful cycles

Egg Donation

The HFEA have recently reviewed their egg donation policies, and from April 1st 2012 we are able to compensate altruistic egg donors up to £750. Altrustic egg donors should fulfil the criteria as above, and in addition should have had at least one child.

If you would like to discuss our Shared Egg Scheme, or the possibility of Altrustic Egg Donation further, please call us on 01483 227 859 and speak to one of the Egg Donation nurses, or leave your name and number and we will return your call.
